BIA/Kelsey Adds Market-Level Online Advertising Revenues to MEDIA
Access Pro™
Version 4.6 also includes distance calculations based on ZIP code,
FCC transaction information and additional data fields for new positions
at media companies
CHANTILLY, Va. (April 14, 2011) - BIA/Kelsey,
adviser to companies in the local media industry,
has made significant enhancements to its MEDIA
Access Pro™ data
and analytical software service to include online revenue dollars
on a market-by-market basis from broadcast stations and newspapers.
The inclusion and accuracy of this type of data in Version 4.6 is
critical as traditional media increases its online and digital activities
to grow revenues. MAPro was also enhanced with zip code search functionality
and new data to assist clients in analyzing and evaluating different
aspects of the broadcast media industry.
“As interactive initiatives become even more important to the
economic health of media organizations, it
is imperative to have a trusted resource that gets its data from the
organizations themselves and then reports and forecasts based on accurate
information,” said
Tom Buono, chief executive officer, BIA/Kelsey. “The addition
of our market-level online revenues to MAPro
enables users to make informed decisions based on a current and detailed
picture of what is happening and where the trends are headed — information
that is critical for business intelligence and competitive positioning.
MAPro is the only industry service that provides market-level online advertising
revenue estimates supplied directly from broadcasters and others in the market.
For more than 25 years, BIA/Kelsey has drawn upon its unique access to stations,
ownership groups and industry resources to report the most accurate market
numbers through MAPro and its “Investing In” financial guide series.
Other enhancements to MAPro Version 4.6 include the ability to search by ZIP
code. This functionality makes it easier for users to search for stations,
locate translators and analyze local areas more thoroughly. The program also
now includes a new “Transaction” tab to provide information on
FCC activities. Data supplied includes the transaction’s proposed date,
FCC grant date and consummation date.
Version 4.6 includes additional fields
for different types of employees found in media organizations such as Internet/Digital
Director, Program Director, Chief Engineer, General Sales Manager, Promotions
Director and Traffic Director. The program has also been enhanced with new
saved search reports to make it easier for users to analyze and evaluate different
aspects of the media industry in a streamlined manner.
