Markets in a General Category Report are organized by the 362 Core Based Statistical Areas (CBSAs) or by TV markets. Each General Category Report contains:
Ad revenue estimates for all media across advertising
categories - Percentage of total ad spending by media and by advertising category
- Ad spending and revenue changes for 12 media categories (2010-2015)
- Total market advertising revenues by media
- Media revenue shares index: relative to national revenue shares
- Annual revenue changes by media (2010-2015)
- Local market total ad spend
- Map depicting the local market
- Individual comprehensive profiles on each of the 12 ad categories. This information gives sales managers colorful pie chart visuals to share with local advertisers.
From this report, clients can examine what is going on within a particular Ad category by drilling down into one of 93 subcategories (e.g., automotive, retail, restaurants, health, and leisure/recreation, etc.) Clients choose the subcategory they want to explore in an Interactive Excel file.
